Children’s Shoes

Guide to Buying Kid’s Shoes

Children ShoesParents often need to buy their children new children shoes because most children grow fast. Young children can grow a size every year, making it necessary to buy new children shoes every time you turn around. Buying the right shoes for your child can often be a daunting task for any mother. Kids don’t really enjoy going shopping for shoes, but as they grow so quickly in the first few years of their lives, choosing the right shoes is really important. If you are planning to purchase children shoes from retail stores, you should keep a few things in mind. Since your child’s feet are constantly growing, it’s not wise to choose a pair that fits perfectly. Have your child try on the shoes, and let your child walk in them for a bit. Some detergent and a toothbrush are effective in keeping most shoes clean.

When do you buy them new shoes?

Children, no matter how much attention they need, may not always tell you when they need new shoes. It is really important to check your child’s shoes on a regular basis, looking for any obvious tears or worn areas that may be making the shoes unsafe or painful for the child to wear

What time should I take my kids shoe shopping?

Our feet swell over the course of the day, children’s feet swell more than adults, so to make sure you buy the right size shoes take them shopping in the afternoon.

My child doesn’t like having their feet measured which makes shoe shopping difficult.

Always have your kids feet measured when buying shoes, no matter how much they might protest. This is probably the most important any mother should have when buying their kids shoes.

Their shoes might be comfortable when standing in the shoe shop, but after a day or two of playing, the shoes may not seem quite as comfortable as they did before. Always measure your child’s feet when they are stood up and always measure both feet. Kids feet are naturally larger than the other so always buy the larger size of the two.

Where is the best place to buy shoes?

Shoe shops that specifically sell children’s shoes employ staff that are trained to fit footer designed with the child’s comfort and safety in mind.

Shoe Size – Measuring Your Feet to Get the Right Fit

That approach is fine if you are in a shop and able to try on a pair of shoes, but it has major drawbacks if either, you want to buy a pair of shoes online, or you have feet of a slightly different size.

Measuring your shoe size accurately and correctly

The following procedure will enable you to accurately measure both of your feet and you can then use a sizing table to determine the precise fit-size of the footwear that you want to buy.

shoes size

Repeat the following for each foot.

Step 1

On a flat and even surface carefully draw around your foot on a piece of paper.

Step 2

Using the pencil imprint of your foot, measure the length and width of the foot carefully with a ruler or tape measure. The width measurement should be taken at the widest point and, for UK and USA sizing, take the measurements in inches with the accuracy level being 1/8th of an inch.

Step 3

You make the determination based upon how close you felt the tracing line was to the actual foot.

Step 4

You will now have separate length and width dimensions for each foot and it will be immediately apparent if you have one foot substantially larger than the other. If both feet are of a similar size, then you can buy your shoes in pairs, however if you have a significant discrepancy between the feet it may be advisable to buy an un-matching pair of shoes. Step 5

Now equipped with the dimensions of your feet you need to convert those measurements into useable shoe sizes and this is done using an appropriate shoe/foot size chart. You simply find the dimension of your feet in inches and line that up with the shoe fitting size on the chart.

Shoe size charts

There are different size charts for men’s and women’s feet and there are also different size charts for different nations. i.e. The USA, UK and mainland Europe all have different sizing charts.

A Quick Guide to Measuring Your Child’s Feet

Unlike adults, children’s feet grow at an alarming rate. However one of the main problems that you are likely to experience when you buy your child new shoes is not knowing their correct shoe size. A shoe that fits properly is extremely important to children, especially young children. So again it is about getting them the right shoe size.

What follows is a rough guide to how to measure a child’s foot.

1)All too often people try to measure shoe size without taking into consideration the extra room needed in the shoe for socks.

2) Have your child stand up when taking the measurement. This way you can get a better idea of the length and width of the child’s feet

3) Make sure you keep your child’s feet flat.

4) Measure the foot from the heel to the big toe.

5) Take the measurements in centimetres for European sizes and inches for US sizes.

6) When your children try on their shoes make sure they have room to wiggle their feet. If the big toe presses against the top of the shoe then the shoes are too small. Alternatively if it’s too far down from the tip of the shoe then the shoes are too big.

7) Get your child to walk around in them and pay attention to their heels. If your child’s heel keeps slipping out of the shoe then it means that the shoes are too big

8) Lastly make sure when buying shoes that you take into account the child’s growth. So buy shoes that are at a maximum half a size bigger – but no more so. Remember children’s feet grow quickly so this makes economic sense.

I would still recommend that you get your child’s feet measured properly as you can get a much more accurate measurement in the shoe store compared to home measurements.

Pink Shoes – Choosing the Right Shade of Pink

Written by andri

pink shoesWhat shall I wear with pink shoes?
Why I don’t choose white shoes ? You’ve basically got two choices when it comes to pink. One is to go the pretty, girly route, in which case we advise you keep your outfit soft and subtle, choosing other pastel colours in light fabrics such as linen, cotton and chiffon. The other route – and we have to admit, this is our preferred option – is to go all out on colour with a bright and youthful shade of pink like raspberry or fuchsia. If you can find a bag in the same fabric and colour, your shoes will look stunning with a little black dress or tailored trouser suit.

How do I look after my pink shoes?
Whether your shoes are made of leather or a manmade material, a quick clean and polish will work wonders to revive the colour. And remember to avoid driving in stilettos as this can put extra pressure on the heels, causing them to break or loosen.

Pink shoes are hot this season and can be a great way to add a feminine, fun touch to an otherwise boring outfit. Today’s pink shoes come in a huge selection of colors ranging from the palest pastel pink to the brightest fuchsia and everything in between. Choosing the right shade of pink shoes can allow you express your softer side or to be fun-loving and funky. The most conservative color of pink shoe is a dusty pink, bordering on nude. Shoes in this color are soft and feminine without being childish or too girly. Pastel pink shoes are the ultimate feminine shoes. Soft baby pinks and apple blossom pinks are a great way to express your girly side. Try pairing pastel pink with white clothing or soft colored tops like yellow or aqua.
